He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles D. Parkin and Helen J. Parkin (Screen); and his brother James Parkin. He is survived by: his wife Patricia of Manito; his child Ryan Andrew Parkin (Tiffany) of Westfield; and his sisters, Mary Watson of Manito, Alice Waldinger of Bradford and Josephine Hinkle of Manito. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren.
