It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phyllis Jean Sondag of Manito, Illinois, born in Bordulac, North Dakota, who passed away on December 2, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Ferd Bauer and Rachel Bauer (Partlow); and her siblings, Delores Ihringer (Al) and Gary Bauer (Marjorie). She is survived by : her husband Joseph B. Sondag of Manito; her children, Sherry Hoffman of Manito, Bob Sondag (Theresa) of Manito, Ron Sondag (Ray) of Kansas City, Joan Mattson (Guy) of Manito, Patricia Bucholtz of Manito, Jeanne Bender (Joe) of Bloomington, Karen Himmel (Randy) of Forest City, Julie Grant (Bill) of Manito and Kim Donaldson (Bryan) of Seacaucus; and her siblings, Marlene Schaak (Jerry) of Bismark, Bill Bauer (Marlys) of Carrington and Paul Bauer (Cheryl) of Williston. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The Rosary will be prayed at 2:30 p. m. on Monday, December 7, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with visitation following from 3:00 until 6:00 p. m. In accordance to current guidelines, masks will be required for all in attendance and social distancing will be followed.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Building Fund.
