He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Lesley Heaney and Mary Heaney (Lang); his wife Barbara Karlin of Manteno; his children, Michael Heaney of Manteno and Emma Heaney of Manteno; and his sisters, Patricia Bradley of Woodridge, IL and Karin Murphy (Tim) of Longmont, CO.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bourbonnais - Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Inc. (295 Main St NW, Bourbonnais, IL 60914). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
