He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Lakin and Bernice Lakin; his in-laws, Stafford and Edith Meek; and his brother Clare Lakin.
He is survived by: his wife Blen Lakin; his siblings, Joanne Meek (Lee) and Doug Lakin (Deb); his children, Kurt Lakin (Gina) and Kendra Meyers (Paul); and his grandchildren, Hayden Lakin, Emma Lakin, Camille Meyers, Katrina Meyers and Braden Meyers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Grace United Methodist Church (506 Willow St, Maple Park, IL 60151). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
