He was predeceased by: his parents, Acie Sr. Gwaltney and Jessie Mae Gwaltney (Quisenberry); his wife Donna Sue Gwaltney (FroHock); his sons, Acie Gene, Stephen LaRue and Damon Acie Gwaltney; and his siblings, Nova Caraway, Anna Fae Graham, Becky Clatford, Rosemary Mitchell, Melford Gwaltney, James Gwaltney and Harold Gwaltney.
He is survived by: his son Douglas Eugene (Billie Kaye Gwaltney) of Marion; his grandchildren, Erica Marie Gwaltney-Waer (Daniel), Letitia Lynn Watson, Samantha Renee Gwaltney, Joshua LaRue Gwaltney and Jacob Stephen Gwaltney; his great grandchildren, Briauna Dezirae Ruger, Korryn Marie Ruger, Natalie Madison Ruger, Madalynn Alyssa Watson, Stone, Gage Elias Watson, Micah Stephen Gwaltney, Mazi Acie Gwaltney, Emma Marie Gwaltney and Sophie Eva Romero Gwaltney; and his great great grandchildren, Sage Pearson and Kamden Pearson.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Vickery Funeral Chaple (416 W Elm St, Equality, IL 62934).
