With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Berdella Joyce Skelcher of Marion, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 3, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmitt Simmons and Ida Simmons (Cameron); her husband Clifton Lyme Skelcher; and her brother Harold Simmons. She is survived by: her sons, Larry C. Skelcher of Brownsville, TX and Bradley Skelcher (Dinah L. DeMoss) of Marion, IL; her grandsons, Jack Skelcher (Lana) of Herrin, IL and Jason Skelcher (Glenda) of Harrisburg, IL; her great grandchildren, Caleb Skelcher of Vienna, IL, Colton Skelcher of Herrin, IL, Casey Skelcher of Marion, IL and Danielle Marie Skelcher of Herrin, IL; and her nephew Larry Simmons of Mt. Vernon, IL.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to "The Voyage" the care facility in Marion that Berdella lived at for a period of time.
