We announce the death of Betty May Rainwater of Marion, Illinois, who passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 92. Betty will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Garrison and Faye Marie Garrison (Greider); her husband Jim Rainwater; her brother Bill Garrison; and her son-in-law Steve Bredar.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathy Nixon (Terry) of Kissimmee, Julie Bredar of Marion and Vikki Rainwater of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; her grandchildren, Andrew Bredar (Amanda), Arcena Thomas (Bret), Cole Bredar, Travis Nixon (Casey) and Grant Bredar (Kayla); and her great grandchildren, Ethan Bredar, Alexander Bredar, Julian Bredar, Sophie Thomas, Violet Thomas, Samuel Bredar, Parker Bredar, Rhett Bredar, Carter Nixon, Roman Bredar and Colt Nixon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church and will be accepted at Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home, PO Box 97, Salem, Illinois, 62881.
