He is survived by: his children, Susan Morgan of Marion, IL and David Lay (Vinice) of Sachse, TX; his stepdaughter Sheila McKee; his stepgrandchildren, Jackson and Olivia of Texas; his adoptive daughter Donna Thomas of Murphysboro, IL; his grandchildren, Sean Lay, Shawn McCarragher (Dulce), Kyle Gainley, Victoria Gainley, Evan Lay and Timothy Thomas; and his sister Donna Best of Indiana. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
