It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Mezo Sr. of Marion, Illinois, who passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Benjamin and Wanda Mae Mezo (Fox); his grandson Johnathon Benjamin Mezo; and his brother Jerry Mezo. He is survived by: his wife Yvonne L. "Luci" Mezo of Marion; his children, Donald Mezo, Jr. of Herrin, Pamela Sue Wright (Joseph) of Du Quoin, Clifton Mezo of Herrin and Brooke Mezo of Carbondale; his stepchildren, Thomas Petitt III (Stephanie) of Marion, Heath Wininger of Herrin and Charla Samples (Gene) of Pittsburg; his grandchildren, Dustin Mezo, Amy Johnson, Amber Bartle (Joe), Alecia Keichler (Mike), Doug Mezo, Chris Mezo, Cassie Umland, Ashley Kratzer, Mia Mezo, Mitchell Riggs and Taylor Threadgill (Calvin); his great grandchildren, Hailie Keichler, Kaila Keichler, Lilly Mezo, Simon Kwasniewski, Lorenzo Mezo and Hardy Kratzer; and his brothers, Ron Mezo of Herrin, Winston Mezo of Carbondale and Frank Mezo of Herrin.
