He is survived by: his children, Jeff Gilbert and Rene Gilbert (Byrd); his grandchildren, Joshua, Tristan, Bianca, Kody and Shea; his wife Carolyn Gilbert; and his stepdaughters, Paulette Hester and Jeanette Stambaugh. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
