We announce the death of Karen Y. James of Marion, Illinois, who passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 83. Karen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Farner and Vernalee Farner (O'Whene); her husband David James; her siblings, Coleta Farner, Dorothy Reed, Delores Kiefer and Jon Michael Farner; her son Kenneth Walker; and her granddaughter MaKayla Walker.

She is survived by: her children, Alyce "Lesa" Sprague (Tom) of Marion, Eddie Overturf, Mike Walker (Peggy) of West Frankfort, Karen Walker, Eric Tucker and Tyson McAdoo (Mindy); her grandchildren, Jessica Bullock (Jeremy), Jami Sutton, Kristin Moss (Jerick), Sarah Williams (Dailey) and Alyssa Walker; her stepgrandchildren, Travis (Heather), Hazel Sprague and Karen; and her caregivers, Diane, MaKyla, Cassie, Anna, Bailey, Michelle and Alicia. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, a nephew, extended family members, and friends.
