He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Thomas and Betty Thomas (Hartwell) of Beckley; his son James Thomas (Jimmy); and his siblings, Karen, Darwin, Adrian and Gary Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Thomas (Bailey); his children, Elizabeth (Andrew Aragon), Caroline Murphy, Roger Jr. (Twila) and Christopher; and his brothers, Arlie, Farrell and Fred. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
