He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Eugene Risner Sr. and Rudie Rice (Stracener); his parents-in-law, J. P. and Eva Smothers; his sisters, Ann Miller and Nancy Bean; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Smothers and Dana Hoffman.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Risner (Smothers); his daughter Gena Anderson (Tim); his grandsons, Austin Anderson (Austyn), Nick Anderson (Bailey) and Drew Anderson (Kelsey); his great grandchildren, Owen, Henry, Tommy and Asher Anderson; his siblings, Joe Rice, Susan Rice and Sandy McMasters (Bill); and his brother-in-law Terry Hoffman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Tom's memory.
