It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas S. Ivastanin (Marion, Illinois), who passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Thomas may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Thomas touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Ivastanin and Cathrine Ivastanin (Missal); and his sisters, Elaine Longfield and Yvonne Mancusi. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Hoban-Ivastanin of Lake; and his children, Steve Ivastanin (Amanda) of Cottenwood, AZ, Dawn Jerger of Oak Lawn, IL, Sherry Klepetka (Don) of Frankfort, IL and Danette Lamb (Richard) of Burbank, IL. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (600 N Russell St, Marion, IL 62959). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to "St Joseph Catholic Church" or "Knights of Columbus.".
