Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint James leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward F. Gerlach and Alta Gerlach (Mines); his sister Janet Shipp; his granddaughter Jessica Gerlach; and his nephew Terry Gerlach.
He is survived by: his wife Nellie; his brother Willis Gerlach; his sister-in-law Marilyn Gerlach (Marlowe); his son Jeff Gerlach; and his daughter-in-law Gerol Gerlach (Gillison).
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church (1100 N Market St, Sparta, IL 62286). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
