William Lyons Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Lyons of Marissa, Illinois, who passed away on May 11, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Lyons and Cecil Lyons; his son Jeff Poppenhager; his grandson Jakob Poppenhager; and his son-in-law Rob Jennings.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Lyons (Lanter); his daughters, Julie Jennings (Lyons), Jill Doiron (Lyons) and Jennifer Lyons (Fitch); his children-in-law, Tim Doiron, John Fitch and Cindy Poppenhager; and his grandchildren, Jessa Howard (Poppenhager), Will, Ben Doiron, Jackson, Max Jennings and van Vuuren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home (101 S Jackson St, New Athens, IL 62264).
