Eleanor Ann Bowlby Obituary
Eleanor Ann Bowlby, 80, of Maroa, IL passed away at her home on April 14, 2023, at 8:32 AM.
Eleanor was born June 10, 1942, the daughter of Bernard John and Beryl Eleanor (Watson) Leo in Australia. She became a nurse in Australia before coming to America. She married Robert "Bob" James Bowlby on March 26, 1970. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2005.
She worked with her husband at his business: Bob's Auto Beauty Products for many years before returning to nursing school at the Decatur School of Practical Nursing in Decatur, Il. She graduated on September 5, 1996. She worked in several places over the years including Clinton Nuclear Powerplant in Clinton, IL, Primrose retirement In Decatur, and Convey Health Solutions from which she retired in 2016.
Eleanor enjoyed hunting squirrels, fishing and hunting mushrooms with her husband, Bob, before he passed. She enjoyed taking care of the hummingbirds around her house. She was an avid stamp collector. She also enjoyed drawing and singing. She loved her family. She worked hard to take care of her kids after Bob's passing.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Bowlby of Maroa; sons, Michael Wayne Bowlby of Decatur, Robert (Linda) Dale Bowlby of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren, Colton Michael Creason, Jade Nicole Reinhart, Angela C. Bowlby; siblings, Margaret Beverly Leo, Bryan John Leo and Garry Arthur Leo all of Australia.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Private family services will be held. Eleanor will be interred at North Fork Cemetery alongside her husband, Bob.
