She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Chasteen and Cleona Chasteen (Parks); and her siblings, Robert Chasteen, Roberta Baggs and Richard Chasteen.
She is survived by: her son Danny Mathews (Sherri) of Marseilles; her grandchildren, Joseph Mathews (Bryanna) of Germantown Hills and Anna Thompson (Ricky) of Marseilles; her great grandchild Leslie Thompson of Marseilles; and her brother Edward Chasteen (Diane) of La Moille. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Seals-Campbell Funeral Home (1009 E Bluff St, Marseilles, IL 61341). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the family. Mary will be donating her brain to the Huntington's Disease Clinic in Iowa City for further research on the disease.
