He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Dammer and Irene Dammer; and his stepson Michael Gutjahr. He is survived by: his wife Reedith R. Dammer; his children, Ron Dammer (Victoria) of Collinston, UT, Giray Berger (William) of Collinsville, IL, Terrence Dammer (Anne) of Honeyville, UT, Stephen Hellmkamp (Jane) of Collinsville, IL, J. Bruce Helmkamp of Collinsville, IL, Craig Gutjahr of Collinsville, IL, Glenn Gutjahr, Jr. (Andrea) of Collinsville, IL and Rob Westpfahl of San Antonio, TX; his stepdaughter-in-law Jane Gutjhar of Wentzville, MO; and his brother Allen Dammer of Alhambra, IL. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (304 South St, Collinsville, IL 62234). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
