He was predeceased by: his parents, George Joyce and Agnes Kern (Mize); and his siblings, Patty Lynn and Tony Kern. He is survived by: his stepfather Ernie Kern; his wife Gloria Joyce of Maryville, IL; his children, Steve Joyce of Troy, IL, Cathryn Shelton (John) of Paducah, KY, Rhonda Stowe (John) of Maryville, IL and Dr. Nathan Joyce (Crystal) of Paducah, KY; his brother Dr. Ernie Kern (Marsha); and his grandchildren, Stephanie Millikin (Mark), Ryan Stowe (Michelle), Dr. Ashley Shelton, Katy Pursell (Jason), Sam Stowe (Allie), Dr. Ethan Shelton, Patrick Stowe (Charity), Emma Joyce, Elise Joyce, Evan Joyce and Eadlyn Joyce. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
