He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Harfst and Frieda Harfst (Dierker); his wife Cheryl Harfst (Krusemark) of Mason City, IL; his children, Gina Schwader (Scott) of East Peoria, IL, Robby Harfst (Danette) of Sheridan, WY and Jonathan Harfst (Jessica) of Battle Creek, MI; his grandchildren, Austin Harfst (Bridget), Mitchell Harfst, Jon McCann, Sara Harfst, Kaytlyn Harfst and Easton Harfst; and his brother Roger Lynn Harfst (Pearl) of Easton, IL. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Illinois Jr. Hereford Association.
