It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Avanelle K. Spitz of Mattoon, Illinois, who passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Krabbe and Lucile Krabbe (Rhoads); her husband Joseph R. Spitz; her brother Wayne E. Krabbe (Verda Mae); and her sister-in-law Sylvia Busbey.
She is survived by: her daughter Julie Rock; her son-in-law Jeffrey of Dunlap; her grandchildren, Ben Rock (Mallory) of Chicago, Rachel Houglum (Ryan) of Minneapolis and Adam Rock (Christina) of Chicago; and her great grandchildren, Noah, Lucas, Elizabeth Houglum and Avery Rock. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
