She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton H. "Jiggs" Thompson and Wilma Mamie Thompson (Baker); her spouse Lonnie Babb; and her sons, Daniel and Kenneth Stewart.
She is survived by: her siblings, Sarah Dierkens, Peggy Moritz, Trish Shaw, Bobbie Martin, Linda Evans and Milton Thompson Jr..
Per Brenda's wishes, she donated her body to science.
