It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donna Rae Elie of Mattoon, Illinois, who passed away on May 31, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Ray Thompson and Helen Louise Thompson (Atkisson); her spouse Thomas Elie; her son Patrick Elie; and her brother Morris Strother.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathryn Huene (Michael) of Mattoon, IL; her grandchildren, Harold Elie (Rochelle) of Nashville, TN, Dixie Elie of Jasper County, IL, Thomas Elie of Jasper County, IL and Tess Huene of Mattoon, IL; her siblings, Leo Thompson (Judy) of Texas, Peggy Jausel (Russ) of Olney, IL, Ruth Furry (Keith) of Mattoon, IL and Glenda Truitt (Tedd) of Plainfield, IN; and her pet Puddy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
