LaVeeta Sharon Goens Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of LaVeeta Sharon Goens (Mattoon, Illinois), who passed away on December 8, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Hash and Harriett Hash (Daugherty); her daughters, Rhonda Neeley and Tonya Sharp; her stepson Chuck Goens; her son-in-law Garrett Myers; and her sister Madonna Johnson.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Ebert Goens; her children, Kent Sharp, Brett Sharp, Angie Tanner (Butch) and Chris Myers; her stepchildren, Sharon K. White (Willie), Deborah Renfro (Skip), Patty Shupe, Gary Goens and Ann Lytle; and her sisters, Shirley Tomlinson, Deon Myers and Norma Himes.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Dodge Grove Cemetery (917 N 22nd St, Mattoon, IL 61938).
Memorials may be made to the Mattoon Salvation Army.
