It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Max Sawyer of Mattoon, Illinois, who passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Milo and Marie; and his siblings, Marion (Christine), Ed (Lorraine), Tom (Brenda), Ronnie, Margaret, Marilyn and Cheryl.

He is survived by: his children, Robert "Dale" (April), Lannette Marie (Tom) and Richard; and his siblings, Richard Lee (Deb) and Karen Sue (Ron). He is also survived by several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Neoga Free Methodist Church (1029 Railroad St, Neoga, IL 62447). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
