We announce the death of Maxine Snyder of Mattoon, Illinois, who passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 86. Maxine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Thomas and Amy Thomas (Lomas); her husband Charles William Snyder; her daughter Cindy Elliott; her son-in-law Rick Elliott; and her siblings, John Thomas, Wilma McDowell, Freda Wilson and Lola Penrod.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Thompson (Jay) of Mattoon, IL and Chuck Snyder (Tracy) of Olney, IL; her grandchildren, Amy Elliott, Dustin Elliott, Kyle Thompson, Alexis Klingler (Dylan) and Leah Snyder; her great grandchildren, Dominik Elliott, Cameron Elliott, Hannah Elliott, Preston Elliott and Remington Klingler; her siblings, Shirley Greenwood and Darrell Thomas; and her sister-in-law Helen Thomas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
