He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold D. "Jim" Rowland and Evelyn Michmershuizen Rowland. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Young; his daughters, Melissa Lierman (Ben) of Indianapolis, IN and Annie Rowland (John Redmond) of Stone Mountain, GA; his grandchildren, Collin, Cary Lierman, Jacob and Scarlett Nixon; his stepgrandchildren, Hannah, Perle and J. C. Redmond; his brother David (Tracy); his nephew John of Davenport; his siblings-in-law, Shelly, Lance Ricker, Jill, Paul Ryan, Jeff, Donna Young, Steve and Cindy Young; and his friend Willie.
He served on numerous local boards of charitable and civic organizations including the Mattoon YMCA, Coles Together, the Lakeland College Foundation and CCAR Industries.
