He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Austin and Nancy Austin; his siblings, Eleanor Thornton, Ruth Kirkley and Joe L. Austin; and his grandson Lamont Caffey.
He is survived by: his sons, John Kevin, Jeffrey Karlton and Joel Kenneth (Delica); his wife Yvonne Givan; his daughters, Valicia Caffey (Michael), Charlette Perryman (Walter) and Jane Reese (Rhetti); his grandchildren, Iyanna, Micah, Jada, Kaitlyn, Lillian, Lenel, Darnell and Terrell; his sister Willene Smith (Melvin); his sister-in-law Laura Reaves (Minister Jean Davis); his aunt Minister Susie Young; his goddaughters, Erica, Dianne, Talya and Gabrielle; and his nieces and nephews, Michael, Kathie, Ledell (Ofelina), Mel, Craig, Kelly (Will), Bridget, Michelle (Nathaniel), Clarence Jr. (Jeryl), Robert, Nicole, Carlos (Amber) and Travis. He is also survived by grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.
Interment with military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
