He is survived by: his wife Theresa Rippel; his children, Terry Weingart (Rich), Linda Pankau (Rich) and Donald Frey (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Bryan Shanahan (Anita), Katryna Weingart, Samantha Thomas (David), Nicholas Pankau (Sarah), Lindsey Pankau, Hannah Richardson (Shane), Ashlee Frey and Emily Frey; his great grandchildren, Malina Shanahan, David Thomas, Charles Thomas, Ethan Thomas, Robert Thomas, Cooper Pankau and Murphy Pankau; his niece Pam Maier (Gary); and his nephew Joe Rippel (Toni).
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ringa Funeral Home (122 S Milwaukee Ave, Lake Villa, IL 60046).
