With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorla Jean Swallows (McLeansboro, Illinois), who passed away on January 22, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, William Farris and Lula Mae Farris (Vaughn); her son Larry Farren Swallows; and her brother Ronald Dean Farris. She is survived by : her husband George Swallows of Blairsville; her daughter Debra Jean Lowman (Ray) of Blairsville; her grandson Jason Lowman of Weston, WI; her great grandchildren, Sydney Jean Lowman and Addison Kay Lowman; her grandson Brian Lowman (Heather) of Hoodville, IL; her great grandchild Ezabella MayeJean Lowman; her daughter-in-law Cindy Swallows of Franklin, TN; her grandchildren-in-law, Melanie Renee Trattner (Glenn) and Joshua Michael Swallows (Stephanie) of Franklin, TN; her daughters, Velda Renee Ridosh (Mickey) of Simi Valley, CA and Ritha Fern Singer (Joseph) of Fayetteville, NC; her grandson Logan Ryan Singer (Stormy) of Fayetteville, NC; her great grandchildren, Jonah Remy Singer, Noah Wade Singer and Luke Warren Singer; her granddaughters, Taylor Nicole Singer of New York and Morgan Ashley Singer of Fayetteville, NC; her siblings, Dee Farris of Peoria, IL, Lonnie Farris (Clara) of Blairsville, Nelma Lee Allen of Blairsville, Gracie Spaulding of McLeansboro and Kay Lowry of Benton, IL; and also, Abigail Ruby Trattner, Lila Rose Trattner, Caleb Daniel Swallows and Faryn Ann Swallows. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
