He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert William Sr. and Irene; and his brothers, William Marshall and Kurt William Bentel. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine "Gerri" Bentel; his sons, Robert (Toni) and Anthony Bentel (Christina); his stepsons, Michael (Lucia) and Joseph Tillman; his grandchildren, Alexia Atkinson (Thomas), Haley Dutton (Jesse), Arianna Bentel, Michael Tillman, Madison Bentel, Mia Bentel, Morgan Bentel (Jeremy Starzec) and Grace Bentel (Camden Swearingen); his great grandchild Corie Dutton; his sister-in-law Diane Bentel; and his niece Rachel.
