The memory of Arlene A. Schmitt of Mendota, Illinois, who passed away on December 12, 2025 at the age of 102, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Henkel and Leona Henkel (Fischer); her husband Robert Schmitt; her siblings, Lucille, Marian, Dorothy, Betty and Clement; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Henkel.

She is survived by: her sons, Tom Schmitt (Martha) of Mendota, Frank Schmitt (Rhonda) of Rockford, Ron Schmitt (Angie) of Mendota and Steve Schmitt (Barb) of Mendota; her grandchildren, Erik Schmitt (Veronica), Jaime Skubic (Jeff), Sarah Piktel (Joel), Micah Schmitt (Kristina), Adam Schmitt (Bethany) and Jacob Schmitt; and her brothers, Raymond Henkel of West Brooklyn and William Henkel (Nancy) of Peru. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren.
