He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schmidt and Josephine Schmidt (Maher); his wife Janet Bauer; his daughter Carol; his sister Anna Marie Jegglie (Ronnie); and his siblings-in-law, Tony Witczak, Edgar Browder and Eleanor Geuther (Ralph).
He is survived by: his children, Donna Clinton (James), Debbie Gatza (Frank), Betty Cook (Rick) and Dennis Schmidt (Kim); his siblings, Larry Schmidt (Sandy) and Norma Jean Witczak; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnne Maloy (Tom) and Linda Browder. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
