She is survived by: her parents, Shawn Saylor and Erin Castle; her grandparents, Mary Lou Saylor, Jerry Saylor (Cindy) and Kim Daul; her siblings, Aiden Castle and Molly Saylor; her stepsisters, Jennifer and Kylie Castle; her aunts, Monica Near (Brad) and Lindsey Gambrel (Jeremiah); and her uncle Rodney Saylor.

A memorial has been established to design a memorial bench in Makenna's honor.
