He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Newell and Edna Newell (Crotz); his wife Betty Boone (Elaine); his children, David Newell (Kathy) and Lisa Avgerinos (Rick); his grandchildren, Allison Eckhart (Ryan), Brian Newell (Caleb Erickson), Mike DiCola (Colleen Casey) and Jennifer Azzaro (Mike); his great grandchildren, Patrick, Vincent, Declan Eckhart and Anthony Azzaro; and his friend Dewey.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church (118 E Main St, Bradford, IL 61421).
Memorial donations can be made in his name to Metamora Christian Union Church, Leet Memorial United Methodist Church or the American Legion Post 445.
