She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis B. Gries and Laura M. Gries (Wernsman); her husband Marvin E. Smith; and her sister Lois Ritt. She is survived by: her children, Angela Metz (Gregory) of Peoria, IL, Michele Hammond (Russell) of Chester, CT, Amy Knight (Dana) of Aspen, CO, Renee Hodge (Dan) of Seymour, IN and Matthew Smith (Rhonda) of Eureka, IL; her grandchildren, Justine Mason (Bryan), Ian Metz, Hannah Allen (Tyler), Ebbie Howe (Jimmy), Katie Hodge, Michael Hodge, Stefan Knight and Aiden Knight; and her great grandchildren, Sophie Mason and Brody Mason.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel (219 E Partridge St, Metamora, IL 61548). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 W Chatham St, Metamora, IL 61548).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary's School, 400 West Chatham Street, Metamora, IL 61548 or to St. Mary's Church, 415 West Chatham Street, Metamora, IL 61548.
