Gary Garber Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Garber of Metamora, Illinois, who passed away on October 3, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Garber and Freeda Garber (Baker); and his brother-in-law Myron Oesch. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Garber (Davis); his sons, David (Adrianne), Doug (Nicole) and Todd (Keri); his siblings, John Garber (Karen) of Metamora, Murlene Oesch of Middlebury, Indiana and Eduardo; Thiago and Gary Salm. He is also survived by four grandsons; three granddaughters; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Metamora Mennonite Church (1393 Mennonite Rd, Metamora, IL 61548). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Snyder Village Resident in Need Fund, 1200 East Partridge Street, Metamora, IL 61548 or Metamora Mennonite Church, 1393 Mennonite Road, Metamora, IL 61548.
