With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary M. Tanton of Metamora, Illinois, who passed away on November 27, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert B. McClellan and Elizabeth W. McClellan (Ritchie); her husband Henry Baldwin "Bud" Tanton; and her grandson Chad Butler. She is survived by: her children, Chuck Tanton (Sue) of Metamora, Steve Tanton (Maria Lea) of Cazenovia, IL, Barbara Reierson of Elko, NV, Susan Swanson (Jim) of Eagan, MN, Bud Tanton, Jr. of Rapid City, SD and Jim Butler (Donna) of Crawfordville, FL; and her brothers, John R. McClellan of Delavan, WI, Robert B. McClellan, Jr. of Missoula, MT and Frank R. McClellan of Pass Christian, MS.. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
