He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Popelar and Norma Sophia Popelar (Sievers); his wife Patricia; and his stepson Michael Ringness. He is survived by: his children, Denise Bozarth (David) of Florida, Greg Popelar of Colorado and Sue Ellen Phelps (Keith) of Germantown Hills, Illinois; his stepchildren, Jeff Ringness (Ann) of Germantown Hills and Lorie Diehl of St. Louis, Missouri.; and his grandchildren, Joshua Smith (Sara), Laura Phelps, Allison Schurman (Josh), Jason Diehl, Sara Martin (Ben) and Garrett Ringness (Carrie). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
