With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Alberta Marie Thompson of Metropolis, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Quincy Bohannon and True Bohannon (Joyner); her husband Joseph E. Thompson; her son Lyndell E. Thompson; her daughter-in-law Vicki Thompson; her grandson Chancily Jeffords; and her siblings, Carmen Sharp, Thomas Bohannon and Bayless Bohannon.
She is survived by: her children, Miles E. Thompson, Louis B. Thompson, Anna Marie Jeffords (David) and Bobby Dale Thompson (Carol); and her grandchildren, Jimmy Thompson, Lisa Wilkins (Ray), Dayla Long (Jacob), Kristal Arden (Mike), Derrick Thompson, Lana Marie Taylor, Quincy Thompson (Raven) and Gwendolyn Meyer (David). She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home (70 Jon St, Metropolis, IL 62960). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be given in Alberta's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
