It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Walters of Metropolis, Illinois, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Walters to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Clay Byerly and Hestel Sexton (Fulton); her children, Brenda Collins and Troy Collins; her son-in-law Dean Lester; and her grandson David Bailey.

She is survived by : her husband Phil Walters; her children, Linda F. Lester and Larry R. Collins (Teresa); her grandchildren, Christy VanCleve (Eric), Larry R. Collins Jr. (Gwen) and Laresa West (Nathan); her great grandchildren, Hunter Woley, Mason Woley, Cameron Collins, Carter Collins, Mercer West and Chandler West; and her brother Don Byerly (Barbara). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home (70 Jon St, Metropolis, IL 62960). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the First Christian Church, 420 Catherine Street, Metropolis, IL 62960.
