Bonnie Yates Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Bonnie Yates of Metropolis, Illinois. Bonnie, born on August 14, 1942, passed away on August 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Tanner and Lorene Tanner (Lifsey); her daughter Deena Kay Yates; her brother Arnell Gene Tanner; and her uncle Bill Tanner.

She is survived by: her husband George Yates; her children, Kathy Johnson (Paul), Sheila Johnston (Dwayne) and Jerry Yates (Rhonda); her grandchildren, Jennifer Travis (Ryan), Brent Johnson (Lauren), Kaylee Johnston (Sara), Natalie Barna (Brik), Brenden Mohr (Melissa) and Katelyn May (Alex); her great grandchildren, Brayden Travis, Brooklyn Travis, Briley Travis, Lyric Johnson, Landry Johnson, Trinton Stanley, Kali Stanley, Ciara Finch, Jax Mohr and Beckett May; her great great grandchild Oakley Queen; and her siblings, Lisa "Cam" Sternberg, Gerald Tanner, Rick Tanner, Chris Tanner and Steve Tanner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
