He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester "Snooks" Carnes and Myrtle Carnes (Cole); his children, Jeff Carnes, Rachel Carnes, Natalie Ranee, Nicole Deshee Carnes and Justin Hardy Carnes; his siblings, Elton Hendrix, Freddy Carnes Sr., Kenny Carnes, Pauline Scroggins, Freda Carnes, Margaret Heflin and Roberta Fletcher; his siblings-in-law, Jack Heflin and Marie Carnes; his nephews, Freddy Carnes Jr., Denny Carnes, Alan Benton and Steve Benton; and his great-nephew Ryan Carnes.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie; his children, Adreanne Carnes (Bryan), Earnest Carnes III (Rhonda), James Carnes (Angela) and Mike Carnes (Connie); his grandchildren, Brynn Powell, Brandon Carnes, Danielle Carnes and Stephanie Bowman; and his brother-in-law Bobby Fletcher. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
