He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanley Russell and Helen Russell (Crews); his sister Brenda; and his brother-in-law Charles "Buddy" Herring. He is survived by : his wife Denise Russell; his children, Heidi Carder (Todd), Holly Turner (Kelly) and John Wayne Cooper; his grandchildren, MacKenzie Wilton (Jay), Dalton Crader, Landon Turner, Lane Turner and Lakyn Turner; his great grandchildren, Emersyn and Luke Wilton; his brother Fred; his sister-in-law Kathy Russell; his nieces, Kathy Herring, Angela Herring and Jennifer Heine (Brandon); and his great-nephew Evan Heine. He is also survived by his family and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waldo Baptist Church (6970 Waldo Church Rd, Metropolis, IL 62960). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital or the Massac County Ducks Unlimited.
