He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Hankins and Alta Hankins; his wife Betty Lou Hankins; and his siblings, C. W. Hankins, Garlen "Sid" Hankins, Harold Hankins, Jim Hankins and Jean Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Wemhoener (Robert), Kathy Smith (Greg) and Perry Hankins (Michelle); his grandchildren, Hanna Wemhoener, Gretchen Johnston (Trevor), Grant Smith and Alayna Smith; his great grandchildren, Porter, Carmen and Ansel Johnston; and his brother Paul Hankins (LouAnn). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be given in Jack's name to Metropolis First Baptist Church, 307 Massac Creek Road, Metropolis, IL 62960.
