The memory of Joe Cunningham (Metropolis, Illinois), who passed away on August 14, 2025 at the age of 94, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leta Cunningham and Toots Smith Cunningham; and his wife Nancy Burnam. He is survived by: his sons, Scott Cunningham and Jeff Cunningham (Kim); his granddaughter Madison Cunningham; his close friend Maggie Hamper; his brother Bill Cunningham (Sue); and his sister-in-law Sally Kimbrell.
Later when homebound during covid, he carved two handsome horse heads he named Covid and 2020.
In lieu of flowers, Joe requested contributions be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or Paducah/McCracken County Senior Citizen's Center, 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive, Paducah, Kentucky 42001.
