He was predeceased by: his stepson Benjamin Bell; and his brother Theodore Kmiec. He is survived by: his wife Maria Kmiec of Metropolis, Illinois; his parents, Ed McKeown and Gerri McKeown of Chicago, Illinois; and his son Jason Bell (Kristy) of Wickliffe, Kentucky. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (315 E 3rd St, Metropolis, IL 62960).
