With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Margaret Wright of Metropolis, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Margaret left this world on October 4, 2025 at the age of 76, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Archie Fairchild (James Wright); and her sisters, Sarah Ann Roberts and Florence Goatley. She is survived by: her sons, John Fowler (Heather), Chuck Fowler (Chrissy) and Ryan Fairchild (Kim); her grandchildren, Jordan Fowler, Katie Feagin, Morgan Fowler, Sydney Watkins, Ally Fairchild, Dylan Fairchild and Alexa Hagan; her great grandchildren, Gabby Fowler, McKinley Feagin, Janson Feagin, Remi Watkins and Raleigh Watkins; and her sister Carla Shemwell (Craig). She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral (312 9th St, Cairo, IL 62914). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mound City National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to St. Rose of Lima Parish in Metropolis, Illinois.
