She was predeceased by : her parents, John Shelton and Gladys Vinyard McDowell; her husband Roosevelt "Bob" Phillips; her children, Cynthia Sue Martin and Larry Allen Phillips; and her siblings, Mildred Polifka, Raymond Paul McDowell and Coy Lee McDowel.
She is survived by : her siblings, Barbara Giffen of Metropolis, Illinois and John McDowell of Paducah, Kentucky. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
